Welcome to Cardross Holiday Homes where you can enjoy a holiday in our self catering cottages which are all on Cardross Estate, a mixed farming, forestry and sporting country estate dating back to the 16th Century. The Estate is situated on the fringe of the Scottish Highlands and the recently designated Loch Lomond National Park. Just to the north is the Lake of Menteith, the only LAKE as supposed to LOCH, in Scotland. Close by are the famous Trossachs, an area of outstanding natural beauty and closely associated with Rob Roy MacGregor and many exciting periods of Scottish History. Cardross Holiday Homes are ideally situated for visiting Scotland’s major cities, the Highlands and both coasts.
We offer self catering accommodation in 5 cottages:
Yew Tree Cottage – a traditional Scottish Cottage; our only single storey house. Sleeping up to 4 people, with wonderful views to the campsie fells from the enclosed gardens.
Arnvicar Farmhouse - accommodates up to 8 people. Arnvicar Farmhouse is located in an old farm steading adjacent to Ash & Hawthorn.
Ash & Hawthorn Cottages - a recent barn conversion. They combine modern fittings with country cottage charm. Each sleeps up to 4.
Arnvicar, Ash & Hawthorn Cottages are ideal for family groups who wish to holiday together while maintaining a degree of privacy.
Gartur Bothy - converted from the old dairy, Gartur Bothy sits at the end of a 2 mile road with incredible views of Ben Lomond and the entire Forth Valley. This quiet spot in an old fashioned farm courtyard is popular through out the year. Sleeps up to 4.

Our self-catering guests are all welcome to enjoy the estate amenities which include a Victorian Pinetum/ woodland walk, oak parklands and walking along or fishing on our own 3 miles stretch of the river Forth.
For the keen angler the well known Lake of Menteith Fishery is just down the road, the eager cook so will find the Nick Nairn Cooks’ School equally close by. For those interested in Botany etc the estate borders Flanders Moss, one of the foremost Raised Bogs in Europe. Not forgetting the wonderful scottish countryside and hills for the walker.
A car is essential to fully appreciate this area of Scotland. For visitors flying in cars can be hired from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Prestwick airports. Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling all have main line train stations and are well served by motorways.
